Prominent Floridian and acclaimed movie icon Burt Reynolds made the American Mustache Institutes 20 Mustaches that Changed History List, coming in at No. 5. Why is that important? I have no idea -- except that every Floridian wants to live in a state where the powerful make a difference in society. Don't they?

Former Florida State University football player Reynolds was bested only by Yankee great Reggie Jackson (fourth), former U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt (third), civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (second), and renowned news anchor Walter Cronkite (first).

Reynolds beat out such prominent historical, cultural, and fictional characters as Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, Salvador Dali, Albert Einstein, Frank Zappa and Ron Burgundy.
