Bring Guns to a Campaign Event? No Worries; Congressional Candidate Paul McKain Supports the Right to Bear Arms
Independent congressional candidate Paul McKain, running for the seat currently held by U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd, is holding a unique event on Saturday -- taking part in the Second Amendment fund-raiser at the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office Otter Creek Shooting Range. The event is also being sponsored by the Tallahassee Gun Forum and Seminole Outdoors & Archery Pro Shop.
Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shoot fully automatic machine guns and silencers! the McKain campaign urged in an e-mail sent out on Tuesday morning. The range is open for your firearms, too, including a steel plate range. Bring your own ammo, or purchase some there."
While there are a host of conservatives fighting it out for the GOP nod, it's unlikely that many of them would use the title "Ever shot an AK-47?" for a campaign release. It's an interesting move, and one that could help McKain gain some attention in a crowded race.
