Brazil Trade Mission May Result in Streamlined Visa Process
Florida will look to streamline the visa process for Brazilians, Gov. Rick Scott said Tuesday.
Disney believes if you didnt have the visa requirement, it would double the number of people who came to their park, Scott said during a media gathering in his office Tuesday.
Fresh off the trade mission last week to Sao Paulo, where he headed an Enterprise Florida delegation of 187, Scott added that more than $60 million in contracts were signed by organizations that went on the trip.
The goal of the mission was to boost the states $13.7 billion a year economic infusion from its biggest South American trading partner.
While on the trip, Scotts office announced:
-- Brazils official export promotion agency, APEX, has expanded its U.S. headquarters operations in Miami.
-- A joint venture between Palm Beach and Brazilian entrepreneurs Luis Claudio Goldner and Alfredo Sampaio Caruso involves a capital investment of $25 million, the lease of a 45,000-square-foot facility at the Port of Palm Beach and a plan to launch Americas Natural Caffeine LLC.
