Board of Governors Names Four Trustees for Florida Poly U
The Florida Board of Governors has made four of its five appointments to the inaugural board of trustees for Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland.
Sandra Featherman, Ph.D., of Highland Beach.Retired president of University of New England and form faculty senate president at Temple University.
Richard Dick Hallion, Ph.D., of Shalimar. Retired aerospace analyst and executive with the U.S. Air Force, also worked at the U.S. Army War College.
Frank Martin, PE, of Clermont.A former longtime member of the Florida Board of Governors -- February 2006-March 2012. Martin is senior vice president for Atkins North America.
Don Wilson Esq., of Bartow. Wilson is an attorney from Polk County with Boswell & Dunlap, having represented Polk State College for more than 30 years.
The Board of Governors interviewed 10 applicants for the trustees on Wednesday.
Gov. Rick Scott will appoint six of the 13 members.
The remaining two seats go to the faculty senate president and the student government president.
