Bill Shuster Hits South Florida to Talk Transportation Issues
U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster, R-Pa., the chairman of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, was in South Florida on Tuesday to meet with U.S. Rep. Carlos Curbelo, R-Fla., and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo regarding transportation issues in the region.
I had a productive conversation with Chairman Shuster and Commissioner Bovo where we discussed the important transportation and infrastructure issues facing South Florida, Curbelo said after the meeting. With the areas rapid growth and development in recent years, congestion issues have become a growing concern. Chairman Shuster, Commissioner Bovo, and I are in agreement that in order for Miami-Dade County and the region to continue growing and attracting new businesses, we need to put in place solutions to solve these congestion concerns. It was an honor to host Chairman Shuster in the district to discuss these important issues with Commissioner Bovo and I look forward to working with them both in the future to increase Miami-Dade County and our regions economic potential.
