Bill Posey Calls for Lower Taxes on Social Security Benefits

Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Posey is once again pushing for legislation to cut taxes on Social Security benefits and ending the mandatory IRA withdrawals required for 70-year-olds. Posey called for ending Social Security payroll taxes on recipients.

Most seniors have spent their entire lives working and paying into a system that guaranteed certain benefits at retirement age and this bill restores those promises, said Posey. We also make sure that should the federal government hit the debt ceiling in a few months, seniors continue to receive their Social Security checks.
