Bill Nelson Wants to Take Your Guns and Your Ammo

The Tallahassee Democrat reports on putatively "moderate" Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson's recent endorsement of President Obama's proposed gun-control measures.

Nelson is calling for a ban on so-called "assault" weapons, criminal background checks on all gun purchasers, and aban on ammunition clips that can hold more than 10 rounds.

Are these guns ["assault weapons"] for hunting or are they for killing? Nelson is reported as saying. And the legitimate answer is, theyre not for hunting. Theyre for killing. Thats what they were designed for: as an assault-type weapon in a combat circumstance.

The NRA's response to the senator's guns-are-not-necessarily-for-hunting revelation: Duh!
