Bill Nelson Takes Aim at Higher Baggage Fees for the Holidays

U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., the ranking Democrat on the Senate Commerce Committee, pointed to higher airline baggage fees imposed for the holidays on Friday. 

Nelson noted reports of higher fees and sent letters to airline CEOs on the topic. 

“These increased surcharges fly in the face of declining fuel costs and appear focused on increasing profitability on the backs of American families,” Nelson wrote. “If your company does plan to impose holiday surcharges, I request that you rescind those plans immediately.”
