Bill McCollum Releases Energy Plan
Trying to catch health-care executive Rick Scott in a bitter contest for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, Attorney General Bill McCollum released the details of the energy plan he will enact if he is elected governor.
McCollum said his plan would blend together free-market solutions while supporting alternative sources of energy including biomass, wind and solar power. The attorney general said he opposed cap-and-trade policies and hoped to reduce Florida's dependency on foreign oil.
With our nation facing unprecedented energy and economic challenges, we cannot afford to put off solving our nations energy problems and withholding the creation of jobs any longer, said McCollum. Through my all of the above energy strategy, Florida will develop a robust energy sector and become a model for the nation. As Floridas next governor, I'll implement an energy plan to put Florida on a path to economic recovery.
