Bill Clinton Will Hit the Campaign Trail for Kendrick Meek

While U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek has not been able to get President Barack Obama to campaign for him in a close battle with Jeff Greene for the Democratic nomination in the U.S. Senate race, Meeks team revealed on Thursday that former President Bill Clinton would hit the campaign trail on their behalf.

Clinton will attend three rallies for Meek on Monday, Aug. 16 -- a little over a week until the primary election on Aug. 24. The events will be held in South Florida.

Meek and Clinton have known each other since 1991, and Meek backed Hillary Clintons bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008.
