Benson, Bondi Bash Health-Care Legislation
Two of the Republican candidates running for attorney general have come out swinging at the federal health-care legislation that President Barack Obama signed into law today.
Hillsborough County Assistant State Attorney Pam Bondi blasted the health-care legislation. Government has lost its bearings and lost its way, spending like there's no tomorrow, while passing bills that show little concern for our opinions today, Bondi said. It will either push our great Republic down a path toward failed policies of socialized medicine and repressive government bureaucracy, or it will preserve our country's commitment to creating longterm prosperity and opportunity through freedom and individual choice.
Calling the congressional vote March Madness, former state Health Care Secretary Holly Benson said. U.S. Congress stood at the crossroads of history and chose the path of bigger government, more spending. They blindly followed their leaders down the slippery slope of socialized medicineleaving in their wake the very principles that made this country great.
