Backers of Anti-Obama Health Care Amendment Praise Bill McCollum

The Yes on 9 Campaign group, supporting the proposed constitutional amendment allowing Floridians to opt out of new federal health care laws backed by President Barack Obama, offered strong words of praise to Attorney General Bill McCollum for opposing a lawsuit seeking to remove the proposed amendment from the November ballot. McCollum is running for the Republican gubernatorial nomination.

By defending the right of voters to place health-care freedom in the Constitution, Attorney General McCollum is upholding a right that Floridians and people across the nation continue to demand in the face of big-government mandates, said Rep. Scott Plakon, R-Longwood, who introduced the proposed amendment in the House.
