Annette Taddeo Draws GOP Fire at National and State Levels

Republicans at the state and national level are bashing Democratic congressional candidate Annette Taddeo for holding a fundraising event this week with U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, D-N.M., the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Reports have emerged that Democrats helped run a straw candidate for Congress back in 2010 in this South Florida district and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) have called on Taddeo to distance herself from the DCCC for its role in the 2010 campaign. Taddeo is running for her party's nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Carlos Curbelo, R-Fla.

“Annette Taddeo continues to demonstrate that she is a hypocritical politician who will sell her principles down the river if she thinks she can benefit,” said Chris Pack, a spokesman for the NRCC, on Thursday. “South Floridians deserve more than the opportunistic hypocrisy that follows Taddeo wherever she goes.”

"From partnering with an organization that boosted a faux candidate to running in a district that she does not live in, multimillionaire Annette Taddeo is running a win-at-all-cost campaign focused on advancing her personal political ambitions and not the best interest of South Florida,” insisted Wadi Gaitan, a spokesman for the RPOF. “We call on her to take a clear position on the DCCC’s actions and to demand Chairman Lujan apologize to the people of South Florida.”
