Anna Marie Likos Takes Over Disease Control and Health Protection Division

The Florida Department of Health announced on Monday that Dr. Anna Marie Likos will take over as director for the Division of Disease Control and Health Protection, overseeing the bureaus of communicable diseases, environmental health, and epidemiology.

We welcome Dr. Likos to the Florida Department of Health, said Dr. John Armstrong, the state secretary of health and surgeon general. She brings unique experience and a global background in public health to serve the people of Florida in this leadership role. I also want to express appreciation to Dr. Pat Ryder for serving as interim division director.

Likos has served with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since 2003.
