Andy Palmer Back as Executive Director of RPOF

Former Rep. David Bitner, the newly elected chairman of the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF), announced on Monday that Andy Palmer would be the new executive director of the RPOF.

I am pleased to announce that we have appointed Andy Palmer to serve as the RPOFs executive director, said Bitner. Andy is well-qualified for this endeavor, with an outstanding work ethic, commitment to the job, and character. I look forward to having Andy at my side every step of the way.

Palmer served as executive director before, serving in the post back in 2005-06.

Republican leaders praised the selection on Monday and noted that Palmer would play a crucial role in the 2012 elections -- including the Republican convention that will be held in Tampa and the Presidency 5 straw poll.

I applaud the selection of Andy Palmer and my team and I look forward to working with him and Chairman Bitner, said Gov. Rick Scott.Over the next two years, Republicans across the state will focus on a presidential primary and Presidency 5, as well as hosting the Republican National Convention. Andy will be an effective leader and he enjoys my full confidence.
