Ander Crenshaw Touts New Website for Citizen Activism

U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw is joining his fellow Republicans in promoting America Speaking Out, a new website allowing citizens to participate in public affairs.

"America Speaking Out gives our citizens a chance to contribute their ideas on how Washington should tackle the most important issues of the day," wrote Crenshaw in an e-mail to constituents on Wednesday.

Crenshaw also used the opportunity to critique the way the Democrats were running Washington.

Government borrowing and spending is out of control, and the Democrats' agenda to take over the banking, auto, energy and health-care industries is fundamentally changing the America we know and love, wrote Crenshaw. Our country is at a critical crossroads. It's time to develop a new policy agenda for the nation that involves all Americans, regardless of their ideology. I am proud to launch, with my fellow colleagues, America Speaking Out.

Northeast Florida residents and all Americans are concerned about the direction our nation is headed and have the right to be heard, added Crenshaw. A new health-care law is exceeding all expected cost estimates and our deficits and debts are at unprecedented and unsustainable levels. Republicans have common-sense, positive policy solutions on the economy, joblessness, and health care. When we differ with the Democratic leadership, we hold firm and emphasize the value of fiscal responsibility, low spending and smaller, more accountable government.
