Ander Crenshaw Looks to Save $35 Million by Cutting Down Congressional Printings

Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw weighed in on Wednesday on a proposal he is backing which will pull the plug on mandatory printing of every piece of legislation to members of Congress.

By eliminating the mandatory printing of every bill for member offices, and turning to available technology to make bills available online, we can save taxpayers an estimated $35 million over 10 years, said Crenshaw, who chairs the Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee that oversees the congressional printing office. Every step counts in the fight to change Congress culture of spending to one of savings and is a step worth taking.
