Americans Give U.S. Health Care System Lackluster Reviews
Americans don't feel too great about the U.S. health care system these days, and most of them expect it will only get worse over the coming years.
According to a new Rasmussen Reports poll, only 34 percent of likely voters currently rate the U.S. health care system as good or excellent, while 31 percent view the system as poor. Although the results of this poll are generally consistent with recent surveys, positive ratings for the health care system are lower than they were earlier this year.
Seventy-seven percent of likely voters say the overall quality of health care they receive is good or excellent, while only 6 percent rate the health care they receive as poor.
More than half of voters -- 57 percent -- say that the health care system will get worse over the next couple of years, and only 22 percent of them expect the system to get better. Twelve percent are undecided.
The survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted Aug. 23-24. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.
