Americans Give Obama Poor Rating on Government Spending

A Ramussen Reports poll, released Monday, showed 47 percent of likely voters gave the president a "poor" rating on government spending, while an additional 19 percent gave him a "fair" rating. Only 14 percent gave Obama an "excellent" rating on government spending, while 19 percent gave him a "good" rating.

When it comes to taxes, 42 percent give Obama a poor rating, while 19 percent gave him a "fair" rating. Only 14 percent gave the president an "excellent" rating on taxes, and 23 percent gave him a "good" rating.

The survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted Aug. 31-Sept. 1.
