Amanda Henneberg's wake-up call

Is the Crist campaign desperate, or just cranky?

Campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg called me at 6:50 this morning to complain about Sunshine State News' latest story mentioning her boss's name. Seems she wanted more than the governor's verbatim quotes from the "Fox News Sunday" debate with Marco Rubio.

"Saw you wrote a whole piece on 'Cover Florida' did you not think it might be important to reach out to our campaign to get more details? Or perhaps you didnt think about writing on Rubios plan that to date does not have one person signed up?" Henneberg wrote in an accompanying e-mail.

We're not sure what Rubio plan she's referencing, but since when does a campaign office field questions about policy matters at the governor's office? Is Crist so deeply in campaign mode that he no longer distinguishes between the two functions? Does he really expect campaign staffers to handle affairs of state? Dumb questions, perhaps.

Maybe the campaign staff should stick to the business at hand. Repeated campaign-related calls to Andrea Saul have gone unanswered and unreturned. Ditto for Chris Kise.

Unabashed, Henneberg railed: "The bias with which you write all of your pieces is truly appalling, and it is very clear that you write with an agenda in mind.

"Please send me the name of your Editor, the number, and an email address."

Done, Amanda. Have a great day.
