Allison Tant Wastes No Time To Bash Rick Scott After Tony Bennett's Resignation

Florida Democratic Party Chair Allison Tant sank her teeth into Gov. Rick Scott after Tony Bennett resigned as commissioner of education on Thursday.

"I wholeheartedly welcome the resignation of Tony Bennett," said Tant."I hope this serves as another wake-up call to Governor Scott, who has again and again showed his inability to hire qualified individuals for top positions within his administration. First Jennifer Carroll, then David Wilkins, and now Tony Bennett -- Rick Scott's department of bad hires continues to grow under the governor's failed leadership."

The statement from the Florida Democratic Party called Bennett's resignation "welcome news to Floridians," saying they know Florida's education system shouldn't be led by an individual who used pay-to-play tactics just months ago to change a top donor's school grades.

Tant and several other Democrats called for Bennett's resignation earlier this week, sending letters to the governor demanding that Bennett leave his post.
