Alliance for Retired Americans Backs Scott Maddox

The Florida Alliance for Retired Americans, a seniors' group, announced they were backing agriculture and consumer services candidate Scott Maddox, former mayor of Tallahassee and chairman of the Florida Democratic Party.

Scott Maddoxs involvement with seniors spans back to his days as mayor of Tallahassee, said Alliance President Tony Fransetta. Scott has a long history as an advocate for seniors, and his willingness to stand up for consumers will ensure that Florida seniors have an advocate on our great states Cabinet.

I understand the hardships many Floridians are facing today, young and retired, to make a living, to pay the bills and to get by every day on a fixed income. I will continue to stand up for all consumers, putting them first over the special interests," said Maddox.

Maddox faces three other candidates in the Democratic primary. The winner will take on U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, the Republican candidate.
