Allen West's Communist Charge Costs Him with NAACP
U.S. Rep. Allen West has made a pretty famous name for himself by criticizing Democrats, but calling members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus -- you know, the people so liberal they think liberals are conservative -- a bunch of communists was too far for his local NAACP branch.
According to TCPalm.com, West was scheduled to speak at a NAACP event in Martin County on Saturday, but the event was cancelled, reset for September, and no invitation was re-sent for West.
The explanation the local NAACP chief offered was priceless:
"The NAACP is a nonpartisan group. Hosting West after he tossed around such allegations would thrust the group into a very partisan realm, Martin County NAACP chapter president Jerry Gore said."
Of course, the NAACP is nonpartisan. Just like the ACLU is nonpartisan. And the National Education Association.
And there's a guy up north you might have heard about: His name is Santa Claus.
