Allen West Doubles Down Behind Dan Bongino

Former U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., continues to double down on his support of Maryland congressional candidate Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent.

On Thursday night, West emailed supporters to highlight the congressional candidate and praise his record. Dan served in the elite Secret Service Presidential Protection Division under President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama," West wrote. During his time protecting Obama, Dan witnessed some things that deeply disturbed him, and ultimately motivated him to seek office. Now he's speaking out and in turn, he's receiving a whole host of criticism and baseless attacks.

Dan Bongino is a true American hero, West added. He put his life on the line to protect two presidents, and I have no doubt he'll guard our conservative values and the Constitution with the same valor.

West plans to use his Allen West Guardian Fund PAC to fight back against liberal factions who will launch an onslaught of attacks against Bongino.

At a time when our nation requires men and women of honor, integrity, and character, having Dan arrive on the scene is refreshing, West insisted. He articulates his vision clearly and in an irrefutable manner. He possesses an impeccable image a square-jawed warrior. I know Dan has all the right mechanics and ability to win this election ... he just needs the support of conservatives nationwide to fight back against the Left's baseless attacks.

Bongino is running for the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. John Delaney, D-Md.
