Alan Grayson: 'Probably Yes' to a Senate Bid in 2016

U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., drew closer to announcing a bid for the U.S. Senate this week.

On Thursday, Grayson appeared on Democracy Now with Amy Goodman and was asked about whether he would run for the seat currently held by U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. With Rubio launching a presidential bid earlier this week, he is not expected to run for a second term.

Congressman Grayson, very quickly, Bernie Sanders hasnt yet officially announced that hes running for president, but what about you? Goodman asked. Sen. Rubio has announced he is running for president. Will you be running for his seat in Florida?

Im giving it a lot of attention, Grayson said. The answer is probably yes, but I havent made up my mind yet once and for all. I hope to do that soon.

U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Fla., is already running for the Democratic nomination.
