AIF Backs Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate

Associated Industries of Florida (AIF), a business advocacy group with more than 100,000 members, just announced they are backing former House Speaker Marco Rubio, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate.

In the U.S. Senate, I will continue to champion policies that will keep taxes low, promote free-market principles, and fight government-imposed mandates on businesses, Rubio said. Our federal budget is replete with wasteful spending, and rather than imposing additional taxes on businesses struggling to pay daily expenses, we need to remove needless spending from our budget.Our business community is vital to sustaining our economy and I pledge to advocate for their best interests while in Congress.

Rubio was an exceptional speaker and he certainly understands the needs of Floridas businesses, said AIF President and CEO Barney Bishop.As an experienced lawmaker, he will be a reliable vote for the free enterprise system and fight for policies that will produce jobs and contribute to economic growth.

Bishop also took aim at the Obama administration in the AIF endorsement of Rubio. A true fiscal conservative, Marco will curb the current administrations out-of-control spending policies that have not produced the promised results, like new job creation, said Bishop. He clearly understands that we cannot tax our way to prosperity and will bring much-needed fiscal discipline to Washington. His powerful voice is what we need in Congress and AIF is proud to support his bid to U.S. Senate.
