
Agenda for 2012 Florida Legislature: a Ban on Strippers and Pole Dancers?

Assuming they're still around after 6 p.m. Saturday, Florida lawmakers will want to take note of what's happening out in Utah.
There, lawmakers passed a bill which says any person who provocatively exposes or touches their body intends to exchange sex for money -- and that's a crime.
Apparently unsatisfied with statutes that already prohibit indecent exposure and lewd and lascivious behavior, Utah is bootstrapping prostitution charges.
Though the new law has created a legal furor -- for starters, strippers say they could be out of business -- Florida lawmakers have proven they're unafraid to tackle touchy issues, having banned fake bull testicles and posterior-exposing sagging pants.
