AFP's 'Five for Florida' Plan Wins Endorsement of Four State Legislators

On Thursday, the Florida chapter of Americans for Prosperity Florida (AFP) announced that four members of the Florida House backed its “Five for Florida" plan.

AFP’s plan calls for lower taxes, more transparency in government, less government intervention in the free market and school choice solutions. State Reps. Heather Fitzenhagen, R-Ft. Myers, Matt Hudson, R-Naples, Paul Renner, R-Palm Coast, and Cyndi Stevenson, R-St. Augustine, endorsed the “Five for Florida” plan on Thursday.

Chris Hudson, AFP’s director in Florida and the son of Rep. Hudson, praised the legislators for supporting his group’s agenda.

“We thank these elected officials for their endorsements and their pledge to fight for economic freedom,” Hudson said. “By endorsing Five for Florida, they’re sending a strong signal to Floridians that they are committed to eliminating political cronyism, expanding educational opportunities for our youth, making government more transparent and accountable to its citizens, and creating a more economically competitive Florida overall.

“If the Five for Florida policy agenda is implemented in Tallahassee during the next legislative session, Florida will unquestionably become the most attractive state in the nation for families, businesses and entrepreneurs, and that is exactly where we want to be,” Hudson added.
