AFP Likes Rick Scott's Tax Cuts But Not Proposed Funds for Enterprise Florida

The Florida chapter of Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP) liked the tax cuts included in Gov. Rick Scott’s proposed $79.3 budget but was far less enthusiastic of the governor’s call for giving Enterprise Florida $250 million to lure businesses to the Sunshine State.

“In these special times of thanksgiving, Gov. Rick Scott should be focused on shrinking the size of government and eliminating unnecessary regulation to protect and encourage entrepreneurs to pursue the American dream,” said Chris Hudson, AFP’s director in Florida. “Adding hundreds of millions of dollars in special carve-outs to a few well-connected industries will not be the golden ticket Florida families need to keep moving forward. We applaud Gov. Scott for remaining focused on cutting taxes, but encourage him and the Legislature to do everything possible to give even more money back to Florida’s hardworking families and entrepreneurs.”
