AFP Launches 'Scary Spending' Website Against Film Tax Credit Program
Americans for Prosperity’s (AFP) Florida chapter launched a “Scary Spending" Halloween themed website this week as it continues to push against taxpayer funded incentives towards entertainment projects.
“It’s not shocking to hear that special interests have their hands out again hoping to convince legislators to revive the failed film tax credit program,” said Chris Hudson, AFP’s director in Florida. “AFP spent countless hours last session, knocked on thousands of doors, and made over 30,000 phone calls to Florida taxpayers to educate them about the failed track records of the film tax credit program, and the dismal 43 cents on the dollar return on investment; and we’re prepared to exorcize this demon again!
“What would be really scary is if legislators revive this failed program instead of spending their time in Tallahassee to address the demands on essential services like education, infrastructure, and health care,” Hudson added.
