AFP Hits Florida's NFL Teams for Relying on Taxpayer Funding

As America gets ready for Super Bowl Sunday,  Americans for Prosperity’s (AFP) Florida chapter is calling out the National Football League (NFL) for relying on taxpayer funds for stadiums and other projects.

AFP’s Florida chapter is running a new digital ad going after the three NFL franchises in Florida for trying to bill taxpayers.

“As wealthy team owners and NFL executives gather around San Francisco for the Super Bowl this weekend, Florida taxpayers are hurting because some politicians would rather help billionaire football team owners than make sure our state’s real needs are met,” said Chris Hudson, AFP’s director in Florida. “The Buccaneers, Jaguars, and Dolphins are all guilty of roughing the taxpayer and exploiting our elected officials to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars, just to enrich themselves and their investors. This year, we hope lawmakers will make another goal-line stand against the billionaire sports owners who keep trying to intercept valuable resources that belong to the state’s real superstars, the hardworking taxpayers of Florida.”
