AFP-FL Letter Urges Bill to Remove Alcohol Vendor Restrictions
Free-market advocate Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-FL) has sent members of the Florida House Business and Professions Subcommittee a letter supporting passage of HB 245, a bill to remove alcohol vendor restrictions.
Read a copy of the letter here. The bill, HB 245, is sponsored by Rep. Carlos Trujillo, R-Doral.
"By voting for this bill," the letter reads in part, "you have the opportunity to remove onerous red tape, give businesses increased flexibility, and enhance consumer convenience by removing a restriction that requires liquor to be sold in a separate area with a separate exterior entrance from beer and wine at retail stores."
“It should be lawmakers’ top priority to make Florida the most free-market state by embracing policies that make starting, operating, and growing a business easier for families and entrepreneurs,” said Chris Hudson, state director of AFP-FL. “HB 245 will remove onerous red tape, give businesses increased flexibility, and enhance consumer convenience and is a perfect example of the sort of free-market policies lawmakers should focus on.”
AFP-FL believes that by eliminating red tape and getting government out of the way, businesses can operate more effectively.
