Advanced Disposal Expands on First Coast
On Monday, Gov. Rick Scott took part in a ribbon-cutting for Advanced Disposals corporate headquarters expansion in Ponte Vedra. With the waste service companys move to St. Johns County, there will be 85 new jobs and $4 million more capital on the First Coast.
In addition to keeping and expanding its headquarters in our state, Advanced Disposal Services has grown to become the largest privately-owned environmental services company in the nation, Scott said. This great accomplishment sends a strong message to the rest of [the] nation that its working in Florida. We have created the most business-friendly climates in the U.S. and more than 330,000 private-sector jobs have been created here in a little over two years.
"The state of Florida and St. Johns County were chosen to be the headquartered home of Advanced Disposal and a handful of our most valuable assets our employees upon a thorough review of four states and five different communities, said Charlie Appleby, the chairman and CEO of Advanced Disposal. Florida and St. Johns County emerged as the forefront leader and final selection due to a number of positive financial factors and a business-friendly environment such as the states competitive corporate income tax rate and no personal income tax, in addition to the quality of life that goes hand in hand with being a Floridian and a resident of Northeast Florida.
