Adam Putnam Announces 2012 Florida Energy Summit
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam announced plans today for the 2012 Florida Energy Summit, which will be held Aug.15-17 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando.
The 2012 Florida Energy Summit will build upon the discussions from last years summit and provide thoughtful direction about Floridas energy potential, Putnam stated in a release.
This year, were partnering with the Florida Energy Systems Consortium to feature expertise, research findings and emerging technologies from Floridas world-class university system. Working together, we can develop and implement strategies to secure a stable, reliable and diverse supply of energy for Florida.
The summit will include research underway at Floridas universities along with speakers offering short-term and long-term outlooks for the states energy industry along with how the states supply and demand of electrical fuels and technologies has changed over the past decade.
Putnam noted that parts of the 2012 Energy Bill -- approved by the Florida Legislature and which will become law without Gov. Rick Scotts signature -- were crafted from the 2011 Florida Energy Summit held last October in Orlando.
