Adam Hasner Gets Some Favorable Reviews from Conservative Pundits

Having announced his bid for the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson earlier in the week, former House Leader Adam Hasner is getting some favorable press from national conservative pundits.

Kathryn Jean Lopez at National Review had kind words for Hasner:

Hes being compared all over the place to Marco Rubio. Problem is, Adam Hasner, an unapologetic conservative who does things like host Iranium screenings and talk openly about entitlement reform and other hard-to-campaign-on realities, is pretty good on his own. Different story, different package, but all right. With a passion for public policy, politics, and service. I look forward to hearing more from him in the coming months. Its a long Republican primary there. With or without the comparisons, hes a solid candidate, albeit in a big field.

John Hayward over at Human Events also had kind words for Hasner.

Hasners camp is trumpeting these favorable reviews -- and they should. Lopez, like a lot of observers, has noted the Rubio comparison and there may be something there. Conservative pundits and activists found a lot to like about Rubio before Republican primary voters backed himin the last Senate race. Hasner is certainly off to a solid start in getting the support of conservative pundits -- the question is, will he be able to lureconservative activists and voters who may have doubts about Senate President Mike Haridopolos and former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux. Hasner's campaign to woo conservatives will be one of the stories in Florida politics to keep an eye on over the summer.
