Adam Hasner Attacks Obama and Bill Nelson on Israel Policies

On Thursday, former House Majority Leader Adam Hasner tore into the Obama administrations handling of issues in the Middle East. Earlier in the week, Hasner jumped into the Republican primary field looking to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in 2012.

It was announced yesterday that Fatah and the Hamas terrorist organization have reached an agreement to reconcile and re-establish a Palestinian National Unity Government, noted Hasner. This development should be of serious concern to the American people, and to anyone who supports the state of Israel and her people. Our country has a deep and longstanding national interest in supporting our strategic ally Israel as it defends itself against the destruction that this revamped Palestinian Authority will work toward.

And make no mistake: Under the cover of the unity government, Hamas will continue to ruthlessly pursue its sole goal --the destruction of Israel, added Hasner. There can be no peace process if one of the groups involved in the process is a terrorist organization like Hamas, whose leadership is dedicated to the genocide of the Jewish people and the destruction of Israel. America must not give a Hamas-driven Palestinian government either moral or political cover.

Hasner ripped into Obama and Nelson for their policies on Israel.

President Barack Obama has been more hostile to Israel than any president in living memory, insisted Hasner. His diplomatic policy has been to fund and sustain the Palestinians and to largely ignore ongoing attacks against Israel. At the same time, his administration continues to publicly rebuke Israel for defending herself against ongoing terror attacks and for declining to place its head in the noose of concessions to those who seek its destruction.

Too many of President Obamas Democratic allies in Congress, like Senator Bill Nelson, have been either complicit or silent as he drives a wedge between America and Israel, continued Hasner. Thankfully, a few Democrats have begun joining with Republicans to forge a bipartisan consensus that America must take a stand against Hamas.

Hasner called for Obama to end all aid to the Palestinian Authority, veto any anti-Israel measures in the U.N., and work to delegitimize Hamas.
