Ad Federation Teams with Legislators on Alzheimer's Cure
The 4th District American Advertising Federation, with legislative support, launched a public service campaign Tuesday to fund research aimed at curing Alzheimers disease.
The human statistic and financial price tag are staggering and quite a bit frightening, said Nairn B. Gillet, the federations district governor, during a media conference in the Capitol 4th floor rotunda.One in 40 Floridians suffers from Alzheimers.

Three bills are now before both chambers of the Legislature on Alzheimers:
HB 473 / SB 682 -- Establishes a Purple Ribbon Task Force on Alzheimers that reports to the governor and Legislature.
HB 1035 / SB 316 -- Creates grants and a public education program in the Department of Elderly Affairs to promote screening for memory impairment.
HB 529 / SB 694 -- Requires the licensure of adult day-care centers that provide specialized Alzheimers care.
