AAA Says Holiday Shopping Begins Next Tuesday in Florida

Holiday shopping kicks off next Tuesday for Floridians, and spending will be up, according to AAA.

Half of the holiday shopping in Florida will be conducted between Nov. 15 and Dec. 14, up from 46 percent in 2010.

More importantly for retailers, the Fourth Annual AAA Consumer Pulse Holiday Shopping survey projects that 67 percent of Floridians will spend between $251 and $750 on gifts this year.Last year, 58 percent of Floridians expected to spend between those numbers.

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving considered the kickoff of the shopping season, is expected to attract 51 percent of Floridas shoppers, up from 47 percent last year.
