Space.com is reporting that there will be 700,000 spectators watching the space shuttle Endeavor make its final launch into orbit on Friday.
If that number holds, it would mean more people will watch the launch than live in 24 of the states 28 defined urbanized areas (the Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville areas are larger).
With Democratic U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, who is recovering from being shot, planning to be in attendance to watch the shuttle commanded by her husband launch into space, the eyes of the world will be on Kennedy Space Center for the 3:47 p.m. lift-off.
