At an event in Orlando on Thursday, the Florida Chamber of Commerce endorsed state Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam to be Florida’s next governor.

Pointing to the economic growth during Gov. Rick Scott’s term in office, the Florida Chamber insisted that Putnam could keep that momentum going. The Florida Chamber is backing Scott over U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., in a high profile Senate race.

For his part, Putnam welcomed the Florida Chamber’s support as he takes on U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and GOP activist Bob White in the Republican primary.

“I am proud to have the support of the Florida Chamber of Commerce,” Putnam said. “The Florida Chamber has a long and proven history of supporting businesses across the state, and I look forward to working alongside the Florida Chamber to ensure Florida continues to build on its legacy as the most business-friendly state in the nation.

“As governor, I will restore vocational, career and technical education in middle schools and high schools so that every Floridian has the skills they need to pursue good paying careers and find their piece of the American Dream right here in Florida,” Putnam added. “Together, we will continue to strengthen our workforce and provide opportunities for our young people to ensure Florida remains as the best place to do businesses.”

Former Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford, now the political chair of the Florida Chamber, praised Putnam on Thursday.

“Adam Putnam is a leader who believes and creates opportunities for all Floridians,” Weatherford said “Today we stand united with Adam Putnam and pledge our support of Florida’s next governor.”

“Adam Putnam is the leader Florida needs to keep Florida’s momentum going. Adam Putnam knows Florida best, and I know without a doubt he believes in free enterprise and economic opportunity for every single Floridian,” said Mark Wilson, the president and CEO of the Florida Chamber. “Adam Putnam believes in Florida and the Florida Chamber believes in Adam Putnam.”

Thanks you just gave me another reason to vote against Opie

Putnam is endorsed by Chamber of Commerce, DeSantis is backed by Trump, and White is endorsed by Ron Paul. If I was a Republican that's all I would need to know.

The "Florida Chamber of Commerce": One of the largest "Lobbys" in the State of Florida in the "business" of overwhelming, and subverting, the will of Florida's Citizen Voters in the sole interests of profit & power by means of political subornation.

The Chamber of Commerce, tries to endorse who they think will win so they have an open door to push their agenda, not to pick the candidate best for Commerce. Right now Adam Putnam is all over the TV with ads, but will soon get a dose of reality when DeSantis hits the airwaves.

Cam Brady is jealous.

Not a fan of Putnum, but I do like DeSantis.

Opie is a far better choice for Republicans than DeSantis. He already knows how to do the job. But Trump likes Desantis, so it will be interesting to see if he comes here (between depositions about Stormy) to campaign for him.

I don't know much about Adam Putnam, I got this from https://votesmart.org/candidate/12913/adam-putnam I would like to hear what the Florida farmers have to say about him, he gave up his seat in congress in 2009 to become Florida Commissioner of Agriculture. Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 100% by American Bakers Association (Positions) 01/09/2018 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 98% by Maryland Business for Responsive Government ("U.S. Congressional Business Ratings") Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 93% by Maryland Business for Responsive Government ("U.S. Congressional Business Ratings") 11/21/2017 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 100% by FRC Action ("Vote Scorecard of the 109th Congress: Second Session") Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 94% by FRC Action ("Vote Scorecard of the 110th Congress") Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 100% by FRC Action ("Vote Scorecard of the 111th Congress") 08/25/2017 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 17% by Council for a Livable World (Positions) Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 0% by Council for a Livable World (Positions) 08/24/2017 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 23% by Humane Society Legislative Fund (Positions) 06/20/2017 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 0% by National Treasury Employees Union (Positions) 01/26/2017 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 0% by Americans for the Arts Action Fund (Positions) 01/17/2017 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 4% by American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) (Lifetime Score) 01/11/2017 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 0% by Americans for Fair Taxation (Positions on the Fair Tax) 11/25/2016 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 100% by GOPUSA (Positions) 11/04/2016 Rating: Adam Putnam was rated 61% by Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (Lifetime Scores)

Putnam's "zero" rating by the AFFT for his stance AGAINST their so-called "FAIRtax" is a sign that Putnam has the common sense to oppose the Progressive scam that is the "FAIRtax."

Read the book "Fairtax" by former Congressman Lindner and Neal Bortz, before you condemn (and dismiss "out of hand") a valuable "idea" worthy of consideration by Congress (particularly in view of President Trump's view toward's Tax Code REVISION..) !

Read it. It was a load of hot air. I do not dismiss it “out of hand.” I spent hundreds of hours of professional research and analysis which exposed clearly and consistently that it was a very Progressive (as they advertise) and a financial house of cards. No it is NOT worthy of consideration which is why Congress ignored it.
