Shots Fired at U.S. Capitol
Shots were fired outside the U.S. Capitol Thursday afternoon andCapitol police told people to shelter in place. The incident appeared to begin around 2:19 p.m. and Capitol police say the Capitol was locked down, according to the Washington Post.
Officers with semi-automatic weapons were seen running for the exits and camping out on the first floor of the House side of the Capitol on watch, but reports of shots inside were unconfirmed.At least one Capitol police officer was injured in the incident, police said.
