The technical meaning of draining a swamp is to keep mosquito populations low to combat malaria and removing dangerous reptiles. Draining the swamp is an appropriate metaphor for Washington D.C. and state capitols.

The Parkland school shooting last week and the 17 deaths that resulted from it are nightmares no child or parent should ever have to experience. People are correct when they say “this must stop” and we need to find a way to make our children safe.

I am opposed to government corporate welfare programs,‭ ‬where the government picks winners and losers by giving financial grants and tax breaks to certain politically connected businesses.‭ ‬This is blatantly unfair to the remaining businesses and creates an uneven playing field.‭ ‬You can also label me a man-made climate change skeptic,‭ ‬to put it mildly.‭
