Florida Has Archaeological Evidence of 7,000-Year-Old Site in the Gulf of Mexico

Secretary of State Ken Detzner announced Wednesday that archaeological investigations located a 7,000-year-old Native American ancestral burial site in the Gulf of Mexico near Venice. The Manasota Key Offshore (MKO) archaeological site is unprecedented, according to a Florida Department of State news statement.
