Jeb Bush Jr. Jumps on Jon Huntsman Presidential Bandwagon

Struggling in the polls at the national level and in most key states, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman focused on the Sunshine State Wednesday when he unveiled the endorsement of Jeb Bush Jr.,son of the former Florida governor andheir to one of the most prominent political dynasties in American history.

Huntsman and Bush held an event in Coconut Grove to announce the endorsement. The former Utah governor had served Bushs grandfather, President George H.W. Bush, in the Commerce Department and as ambassador to Singapore.

With Straw Poll on Saturday, GOP 2012 Hopefuls Continue to Work Iowa

With a debate between the Republican presidential candidates scheduled for Thursday night and the Iowa straw poll in Ames on Saturday, GOP hopefuls continued to work the Hawkeye State Tuesday, looking to build momentum.

Five of the candidates -- U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, businessman Herman Cain, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, former Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania -- campaigned across Iowa, hoping to gain traction since former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, the front-runner in the race, is downplaying the straw poll.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Friday reveals that Gov. Rick Scotts job approval is on the rebound -- now at 35 percent -- though a majority of Florida voters remains disapproving of his performance.

Back in May, in a poll released by Quinnipiac, Scott registered a 29 percent approval, while 57 percent disapproved of the Republican governor.

He does better in the new poll, with 35 percent approving of his performance while 52 percent disapprove. The governor is hurt by only 34 percent of those surveyed saying they like Scott as a person while 45 percent dislike him.
