Pull out the streamers and raise the pita Its an exciting day in the world of Sunshine State News: March 1, 2012, marks our second anniversary delivering Floridas political news and insight to all of our dedicated readers. Thanks to so many of you who have written, phoned and emailed to give us your feedback and tell us you like what were doing!
Since launch, nearly 2.5 million readers have chosen SSN as their source for Florida's political news. And, Im happy to report that number is growing daily.
At SSN, we wake up each day thinking about how we can make your experience better. In that regard, 2011 was an exciting year as we unveiled a bold new look and even better functionality -- offering not only the top political news, but the best sports, entertainment and regional news from around the state. Along the way, we were also laser-focused on providing coverage and perspectives ignored by traditional mainstream media.
SSN has attracted national attention from top-flight news organizations such as Drudge Report (ready the server traffic!), Fox News, Politico, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and even, yes, The New York Times.
We were honored in the summer to see SSN's Chatterbox voted one of Florida's best political blogs by Washington Post readers.
SSN is not hitting cruise control yet. We're working hard to be your top source for Florida's political news, and we are only getting started. Stay tuned this month for the exclusive launch of the Power10, an ongoing series of SSN's Top 10 Lists. What is that? Youll have to check back to find out.
Speaking personally, I had no idea that serving at the helm of this innovative, fluid world of new media would be such a wild ride, and frankly, Im having the time of my life!
