Pam Bondi Named as One to Watch Nationally

July 12, 2012 - 6:00pm

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has landed on Politicos list of 50 To Watch, topping a category called State pols on the verge of national prominence.

Now, not yet midway through her first term as the Sunshine States chief law enforcement officer, the 46-year-old Bondi has become one of the most prominent national voices in the fight against President Barack Obamas health care law, Politico reported.

Bondi has been the lead attorney in the 26-state federal lawsuit against the presidents signature domestic achievement and for good reason. An omnipresent force on Fox News, Bondi speaks unequivocally about the laws impact on the country, which has made her Floridas third-most-popular Republican politician (behind former Governor Jeb Bush and Senator Marco Rubio) and a hero on the right.

Bondi, who told the Washington-based news site her plans are to run for re-election in 2014 and that she has no plans to run for governor, joined Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman as the pols on the verge.

The list looks beyond politicians to include lobbyists, fundraisers, journalists and congressional staffers.
