No, President Obama, Black America Doesn't Owe You a Vote for Hillary!

September 19, 2016 - 11:30am

Hold on President Obama! We love you and all, but you stepped a little out of turn this weekend while giving your speech at the Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference annual Phoenix Dinner.

I recently wrote that Black America really didn't want to see you go, but if you keep talking like this, we'll hold the door open for you.

As I get older, I like to use phrases my grandmother used, and Mr. President, you were smelling yourself that night when you said you would take it as a personal insult if we didn't vote for Hillary Clinton.

Whether you know it or not, the smell was pure garbage.

Mr. President, our reasons for voting for Hillary Clinton should be because she represents the best person for our community compared to Donald Trump, not because it would be a personal affront to YOU.

Just like the Democratic Party doesn't own our votes, neither do you.

Should we take it personally that she called us "super predators"? Clearly, even though she has since apologized, that hasn't been forgotten. Should we take it personally that the 1994 Crime Bill signed into law by her husband, and championed by Hillary Clinton, wreaked havoc on our community?

Hillary Clinton hasn't always been a friend to our community, so should we take it as a personal insult that you are now trying to tie our respect for you with a vote for her?

That's almost like a domestic violence abuser. "If you love me, then you'll do this! If you don't do it, then that means you don't love me."

President Obama stop it!

Exactly what has Hillary Clinton done to appeal to young black voters, except call them names years ago, disrespect them as Black Lives Matter movement protesters, and then rely on certain black surrogates such as yourself to do her leg work for her?

No, President Obama, I don't think we owe you anything. Our debt to you, if we ever had one, is more than paid in full. We stood in line for hours during two elections to ensure that you became, and stayed, a resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

We continued to have your back when other people, to include Hillary Clinton, threw you under the bus.

Truth be told, there are a few executive orders you should be throwing OUR way! Let me know when you're ready to have that discussion! Your debt to the black community is still outstanding. Pardoning some inmates is great and all, but it seems to me there should be at least one or two executive orders directed toward the black community you could have done.

I think you getting out on the campaign trail for Hillary is great. I think using the line that black people not voting for her is an insult to you is the wrong approach.

It actually stinks of the house Negro telling the field Negroes to go support the mistress or we all are goin' get in trouble, and I'm sure you don't want us to feel like that, Mr. President.

Trust and believe that I'm not the only one who was offended by what you said.

You can't make us love and support Hillary Clinton by turning it into some insult to you. All you can do is make us look at you with a side eye.

Right now I'm side-eyeing the hell out of that personal-insult comment.

The enthusiasm level for Hillary Clinton in the black Community in Florida is swimming with the Tidy Bowl man.

Trust me, as it currently stands, folks will not be standing in line for hours to vote for her.

If You want to get enthusiasm up for Clinton, there are some things that can be done, but coming at us this way isn't one of them.

Mr. President, you would be far better off sticking to the line that Donald Trump is bad for our community and bad for America.
