On Tuesday, with voters turning their attention to the general election after last week’s primary, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., announced his endorsement of state CFO Jimmy Patronis.

Rubio made the endorsement on Tuesday morning. Patronis is facing former state Sen. Jeremy Ring, the Democratic nominee, in the general election in November.

“Today, I am pleased to announce my support and strong endorsement for Jimmy Patronis to remain Florida’s Chief Financial Officer,” Rubio said. “Jimmy Patronis is someone voters can trust to effectively manage our state’s finances. Through his unwavering dedication to protecting Florida consumers and instrumental advocacy on behalf of our first responders, he has earned our vote this November.”

“It is an absolute honor to receive the backing of Senator Marco Rubio in my bid to continue serving as the CFO of Florida. His leadership as both speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and now in the U.S. Senate has been invaluable to our state,” said Patronis. “Because of the hard work of Florida’s conservative leaders, we have an economy that is prospering. Together, Senator Rubio and I will continue this momentum.”

First elected to the Florida House in 2006 to represent parts of the Panhandle, Patronis served until 2014 when he faced term limits. Patronis was serving in the Florida House when Rubio held the gavel and served as speaker.

After a brief run for a state Senate seat before ending that campaign, Patronis was named to the Public Service Commission by Gov. Rick Scott. Last year, then state CFO Jeff Atwater announced that he would resign his post to take a job with Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Scott appointed Patronis to serve the remainder of Atwater’s term. Patronis started as CFO at the end of June 2017.

Somebody tell Rubio he can have Patronis if he gives up Kavanaugh!

Ahhhhh... Marco Polio is probably just looking for "free meals for life" at the "Captain's" on PCB, FL....(You ALL know how "pandering politicians" finagle....)

An endorsement by a worthless RINO is a worthless endorsement.

You feel the same way about John McCain? A "worthless RINO"?

Not wanting to be hypocritical like so many who, labeled him a RINO in life, and are now singing his praises the answer to your question is YES. He was a disgrace to the Republican Party.

John McCain was far more than a worthless RINO: He was the "Songbird" at the "Hanoi Hilton"....(Someday, one of those former prisoners is going to write a TRUTHFUL book about McCain... He was never any better than Jane Fonda or John "Fonda" Kerry). [Amazingly, John Kerry wants to run for POTUS in 2020.... If YOU think Andrew Gillum is going to lose HIS race; Just wait til you see how historically bad Kerry will lose HIS,...MONUMENTALLY ! ! ! He'll make "Gillum's "loss" SEEM like a "WIN" (by comparison) !
