After announcing a new chief of staff earlier in the week, on Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., continued to shuffle his staff as he readies to start a second term next month.

Rubio promoted Lauren Reamy, who had been on the senator’s staff since 2015, to deputy legislative director. The senator also tapped three new staffers.

“Lauren’s promotion and the addition of these new members to our team will help us serve our constituents as we continue to pursue an ambitious and impactful legislative agenda in my second term,” Rubio said on Tuesday.  “I’m excited about getting our second term started, and what these professionals will bring to the table as we work on national security issues, repealing and replacing Obamacare, nominating qualified individuals to the federal bench and the many unique Florida issues that have a federal dimension to them, including our constituent service program.

“These individuals will join an existing legislative team that’s coming off our most successful Congress yet, when we passed more bills into law than our first four years,” added Rubio. “With Republicans in control of the White House, Senate and House, I’m hopeful we will be able to get even more things done that help move our state and nation forward.”

Reamy had served Rubio as as a staffer on the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee’s Oceans,  Atmosphere, Fisheries, and Coast Guard Subcommittee. Before that, she worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee and was legislative director for the Motion Pictures Association of America.

Rubio also brought in three Capitol Hill veterans on his staff. Ansley Rhyne, who worked for U.S. Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., on the Joint Economic Committee and for Republican U.S. Reps. Tom Graves of Georgia and Mark Meadows on North Carolina, will be a legislative assistant handling heath and education issues. Samantha Roberts, who had been on the staff of U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayottee, R-NH, will join Rubio’s team as general counsel.  Robert Zarate, who worked for U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., and U.S. Rep Jeff Fortenberry, R-Neb., will be Rubio’s senior foreign policy advisor. Zarate had been Kirk’s national security advisor working on a number of issues, including Israel’s “Iron Dome” anti-missile defenses.

Earlier this week, Rubio announced Alberto Martinez, a longtime staffer , was stepping down as chief of staff but he will remain with the senator  as a senior advisor. Clint Reed, who led Rubio to a big victory in the Republican primary in August before guiding him to a win last month over U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Fla., will replace Martinez.
