Florida Gas Prices to Fall over Easter

March 24, 2013 - 7:00pm

Floridas most recent gas prices dropped 2 cents more than the national average in AAA's latest report, and Floridians can look for even more savings per gallon as they hit the road this Easter weekend.

Gas prices in Florida decreased by 4 cents to average $3.69 a gallon, according to AAA. Across America, prices decreased by 2 cents to land at $3.67 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline.

The Easter weekend is forecast to see a drop regionally of another 3 to 5 cents per gallon, but the savings could be short-lived if history repeats itself.

"March is expected to end with falling gas prices in time for those who plan to travel during the Easter holiday, said Jessica Brady, AAA spokeswoman. However, the drop in supply is a sign of increased demand, a trend typically seen at the start of April. As a result, motorists could see pump prices move right back up in April, before leveling off near June.

The price of a barrel of oil traded in March at an average of $93.

According to AAA, Varying economic news has kept oil prices relatively stable. The positive announcements about the U.S. jobless rate and supply reduction are countered by Europes lagging economies and debt issues. The nations crude inventories dropped 1.3 million barrels in the second week of March. This is the first decline in nine weeks, according to the Energy Information Administration."
